Today’s Soundtrack // Annie Brooks

March 14, 2012

This past weekend was such a fabulous little vacation (more on that to come) but I thought I’d share a little bit of the reason we made the drive.  Her name is Annie; and if I had a girl crush, she would probably be it (don’t get mad Jake, promise I won’t steal her!).  Not only is she adorable:

But she paints adorable things:

And she writes thoughtful and lovely music (that, of course, have adorable music videos to go along with them):

Cory and I drove to Durango for the Winter Jubilee, an awesome series of concerts and workshops for a great cause:  encouraging kids to participate in music, learn musical instruments, and to eventually establish a complete music and arts program at a local school.  This was our second year going, and has been so much fun and full of inspiration both years.  So proud of them!

So Annie has been my soundtrack lately, as well as an all-around inspiration as I make a little more effort for CREATIVITY this year.  Check out more of her music and download it here (I highly recommend Up, Up, Up: instant mood-lifter for when one encounters a less than satisfactory day) and her photography business with hubby Jacob here (the blog is full of so much goodness!).

P.S. Jake and Annie, thank you for being excellent hosts and lovely friends! Miss you already.

I just loooove the painting of the fox (watercolor I assume?) It is so impressive, and I always must appreciate good handwriting as well! THANKS for posting this…so cool!

Yes it’s watercolor :) Annie had a whole set of woodland animal Valentine’s she was selling last month and they’re all darling, but that one is my favorite!
